The time before the movie started with decided to entertain ourselves at the Party Packagers store amongst the terribly hilarious Halloween costumes. Let me say, some of the stuff was awesomely bad. There was a plastic chain saw that made noises like a robotic cat that was dying and some toy labeled as (what looked like) dumping Spider (not that it was in fact Jumping, but the ‘J’ was so terrible that it looked like a lower case ‘d’). That one sent me into a pretty good laughing fit.. which didn’t help my full bladder much. Needles to say, it was a much needed fun time with friends.

The movie was also entertainingly not good. We made it fun by everyone choosing a different character from the movie to “be”, and whoever “survived” the movie won. In our case, bonus points were given to the person who chose who the Devil was. Unfortunately, my character was killed off first. Last time we played this movie while watching “Severance”, I won, so I guess it evens out.

I won’t tell you how the movie goes, because that ruins the fun, and I’m not a movie spoiler, but please don’t pay full price for this one folks!

Needless to say, I’m sure the people sitting behind us were weirded out by or nerdtastic-ness and the other girl we sit with was loving every moment of our commentary.

Star Wars is pretty awesome and I’ve seen it many times…probably into the double digits, I’m not sure of an exact number =D. I remember first seeing it when they had the remastered re-release. I was quite young and obviously loved it. We also watched it a lot when my dad made home made pizza when my mom worked Saturdays and we would sit in the basement, eat pizza and watch one of the three original films (or Indiana Jones). We had them on VHS (old school!!!!) Those Saturdays were awesome! I miss that.

Anyways, I’ve spent my summer being super unproductive… other than going to the gym and my taking up practicing yoga everyday (for the stress). Looking forward to starting classes, as I sit here and listen to “That’s What She Said” Office podcast, contemplating what to watch before falling asleep…slightly depressing, at least summer is over in 6 weeks so that’s a relief.

Summer is not a season I enjoy. The humidity and nothing really to do (for free), all you’re friends have gone home for the summer and the feeling of doing nothing really productive (unless you have a decent, career related job). To be fair, I have done a few design projects on the side, but nothing that has kept me occupied very long. But enough about complaints.

I have been taking a summer class to make up for a class I dropped in the fall. It’s kind of interesting, I think due to the fact of it being a night class doesn’t help. In this class, as in many university classes, people bring their laptops. Now, one could assume these people plan to take notes, or not… the latter is probably the more believable… anyways, I sit there, taking notes by hand (because alas, I cannot type quickly enough) watching these people on facebook or online shopping not paying attention. Seeing this makes me wonder how these people plan on doing well. The prof. doesn’t post notes and I don’t know about them, but my memory is terrible with stuff like this.

No matter, it’s just a curious thought I’ve always have had.

I haven’t written in some time…I never feel I have very interesting things to say.

No matter, it’s exam time again.. I actually have one this afternoon. It’s worth 15% and I’m having a very hard time caring much. I also only care slightly more about the one worth 25% on Wednesday. I think’s its because I’ve been in post-secondary for about 4 years now and, quite frankly, am sick of it. I want to start a real life with a real job…all this studying and school is a bit exhausting.

With that said, I’m hoping third year yields less exams.

Looking forward to summer…although, as of now I am unemployed (grrrr) I’m done getting upset over that situation…I will blame…the economy! I’m concerned but a the same time, I have things to occupy myself (like working out and designing a website for my bro) and fun things to look forward to (weddings and fun adventured, hammocks and campfires!) Overall, I feel this summer is going to be significantly better than last. Last summer was TERRIBLE…so boring/ depressing.

It’s a terribly boring endeavour, and I only have two exams, one of which I have already written. Friday I will be finished!!!!!!!! Then holidays and relaxing and not feeling guilty about lying on the couch (guilty about not looking at my notes, still feeling guilty about being lazy). Maybe I should be studying right now, I find it very hard to concentrate on anything…. I bought myself  a cactus today (see what I mean about not concentrating). I wanted some type of plant life for my room for a while..cacti are low maintenance, even better. Very exciting. Some friends and I also went for Pho tonight, following some DDR and watching a friend play some Doom, hehe, oh Doom, how many hilarious things in the game. Oh man, I remember spending hours watching my dad play Doom when I was younger, that and Duke Nukem (double lol) I spend a lot of time watching people play video games…sometimes it makes me feel nauseated.. motion sickness?? Maybe.

It needs to snow. It’s almost Christmas and it has snowed about 2mm. What a disappointment.

Well, time to crawl into bed, watch an episode of something and go to sleep. I love sleep.

I am really looking forward to Friday. My friends house is holding a Christmas party and he was explaining his menu and it makes me feel like I’m going to have to get all fancy…needless to say I will come hungry and enjoy the end of semester.

Unrelated note, tonight I attended a holiday party for the multimedia and communications society. Seeing as I had an assignment to finish, I opted not to stay long (or drink too much) It was a much welcomed break from assignments…and who could turn down 2$ glasses of wine!!

Its very relieving..finishing/ handing in your last assignments. It just feels so good that you have a holiday between now and your next set of classes.

On another note…a friend of mine stated that my blog writing doesn’t sound like me and that it’s too calm. Calm…I don’t know, am I usually non-calm in real life? Maybe it’s because I’m not conversing with anyone…I don’t really have anything to get me going.

OOOOh here’s something un-calm…I suppose. Yesterday, whilst attempting to write this essay in ITB with Mr. your blog writing is too calm, and his other software eng friends, I was informed of an application that when downloaded onto a MacBook Pro, will become a Light Saber (as in, when you swing the computer around, the sounds react to the movements) Needless to say, that will provide some serious random entertainment for this easily distracted artsie =D

1 and a half more weeks until exam period…which I am actually looking forward to, for I only have two exams and more than enough time to study for them. I have a lot of plans for my sans-school work holiday. But for now, back to homework…I will leave you with this humorous tidbit I found whilst researching for my essay.

My first semester as a multimedia student is quickly coming to a close and I can’t help but realize how quickly the past three months have flown. It’s kind of mind blowing. I am not going to lie and say I don’t like school…because I love it, but I always look forward to those breaks from the chaos. I’ve pretty much been counting down the days until the end of this semester since November started, yet, even though I am aware of the epic pile up of final assignments and tests, I am in a surprisingly good mood..very calm. I think it’s because, no matter how much craziness finds its way onto my desk, I always seem to make it through (though I will admit, I’ve had my share of nervous breakdowns)

And so on this quiet Saturday, I am going to enjoy myself working on assignments that don’t make me hate life… my substantial collection of music adds to the charm…though, I won’t lie..I’ve spiced this quiet evening up a bit by rocking out, and by rocking out I mean dancing quite terribly to some tunes here in my room XD.

I think I will get back to photoshopping now…hopefully I will be able to watch Star Trek tonight (2009 version)

I travelled to New York City for a few days in May and lately I’ve been missing it. I think it is partially due to the fact that work has been slow, but also because it was the most amazing city. I can explain the appeal… it’s always busy, always nosy and complicated to navigate (at first), but there was just something about the beautiful architecture and enticing coffee shops and Central Park…oh Central Park, I could have spent forever in there doing nothing….

One day I will go back, but now Big Brother and Macgyver season 2 with a good friend =)
